How to Get Money from YouTube?

YouTube is very popular now. A lot of my friends watching the videos everyday. A few days ago, my friend said that you can actually making money from YouTube. Is it true? How is it?

Answer:
You do not make money based on the number of views that you have. You make money based on the involvement of people with advertising. The involvement here means clicking or watching ads for more than 30 seconds. YouTube ads run in the Adwords platform. Advertisers select ads on a Cost Per Click (CPC) or Cost Per View (CPV) model.

Cost Per Click (CPC)
CPC is when advertisers pay based on clicks. So if a particular keyword has a CPC of $1 and someone clicks on the ad, the advertiser will cost $1. This text ads appear at the bottom of the screen during the video and also can appear as a square banner on the right side of the channel.

Cost Per View (CPV)
CPV is when advertisers pay based on the views. A display for advertisers means someone watches ads for at least 30 seconds or half of the ads; whichever comes first. That person could click on ads that are 50 times but still will not charge advertisers more because they do not pay for clicks, they are paying for the view.
